Jeremy Corbyn & Tom Watson were elected last September on a promise to deliver honest, straight-talking politics where we address the big issues for the country and the Party. One of those promises was to change the way policy is made and involve members more.  There are four areas for discussion with questions raised in each area:

1. The “Big Picture”
2. Involving and engaging people more directly.
3. How to reform our Party’s policy making system
4. Harnessing new technology (whilst not leaving behind those who can’t or don’t have internet access)

Nicky Wildy, our LI NPF representative, also elected last September said:

“The Party has now published this NPF review document. The timetable for responses is February to April. I am happy to coordinate a response on behalf of LI members, LI Committee and our LI Policy Group but would need responses by mid-April.  Of course, Branches, Groups and individual members can respond direct but it would be good to see what you are saying.

You will see in each section there are a number of questions posed. It will be necessary to link our responses to those questions so I am afraid I will have to insist that this format is followed.  This in no way precludes Branches and Groups having detailed discussions around the document nor does it preclude any “off the wall” or “blue sky” solutions/suggestions around areas not included in the document.”

So let’s make an impact and send in some great ideas of how best to (a) get member involvement and (b) to use the skills, talent & knowledge of the Labour Party’s many members.
