Voting deadline in all time zones
All eligible members of Labour International should have received a ballot by email. For members in Europe it arrived quite late at night.
If you’re haven’t yet found it in your inbox, search for the from address labourint.surveys@gmail.com and the subject line “Vote for Labour International Executive Officers”
At the close of nominations on 18th February, only 5 LIEC officer positions had received nominations for more than one candidate.
These are:
- Secretary
- Chair
- Membership Vice-Chair
- Political Education Officer
- Disabilities and Carers’ Officer
Note that a pair of job-share candidates is treated as one candidate.
Those are the 5 contested positions that will be decided by this ballot.
Here is a link to information about the candidates as a PDF document.
The LI Rule book specifies that voting in LIEC elections is to take place by Alternative Voting (AV). But in this case there are no more than two candidates for any role, so we shall be asking for your first preferences only.
N.B. The order of candidates for any position will be randomised for each voter to eliminate order bias, so in about 50% of cases they will appear in a different order from that shown in the candidate information.
All other positions except one received a nomination for only one candidate each, so there was no need to include them in the ballot. No nominations were received for the regional coordinator position for Asia, Australasia and the Pacific. Nominations for this position will reopen in the near future.
Here is a list of candidates for uncontested positions. These candidates are deemed elected unopposed and will take up their positions at the LI AGM on 28 March 2021.
