The NEC Officers approved the revised rules for Labour International on 2 April and have agreed the following timetable for the election of the Labour International Executive Committee (LIEC):

Announcement of results Friday 26 Apr 2019 – evening
The current LI Coordinating Committee at its meeting on 24 March 2019 determined that the Election Sub-Committee would comprise Lorraine Hardy (Spain) and Colin O’Driscoll (Belgium).

 

The LI Executive Committee (LIEC) will comprise the following:

Vice-chair/ membership
Secretary
Treasurer **
Women’s officer
BAME officer
LGBT+ officer
Disabilities and Carers Officer
Trade Union Liaison Officer
Political Education Officer
Communications/social media Officer
Youth Officer
Policy and campaigns officer

** all posts are open to job-share except Chair and Treasurer.

Term of Office: those elected will serve from 26 April 2019 until the completion of the election process in 2021.

Complete the nomination form and send it to LIEC2019@LabourInternational.net.

Nominations will be acknowledged within 24 hours.

Supporters: each nomination should be supported by two individual members of Labour International OR a Labour International Branch.

Deadline for nominations is noon UK time on Friday 12 April 2019.  Nominations will be acknowledged by email if received by email and by post if received by post.

Eligible participants in this election: all paid up members of Labour International at the closing date for nominations (12 April 2019) will be entitled to participate in this ballot.

Arrears: members currently in arrears have been contacted separately from this mailing (on 30 March 2019) and given the opportunity to bring their membership up to date by 12 April 2019. Members who are not paid up at 12 April 2019 will not receive an invitation to take part in the ballot.

Online Voting: the ballot, using alternative transferable vote, will be organized independently via SteppingStones in London.

Scrutineers: the Governance & Legal Unit of the Labour Party will receive postal ballots which will be validated and passed to Darren Williams of the NEC who will act as our scrutineer.

The result of the ballot will be announced, via the website, on the evening of Friday 26 April 2019.

It is intended that the majority of the election process will be conducted on-line as most of our members use email.
