Update on meeting of LI members in Alicante and Costa Blanca South – by Lorraine Hardy

LI Alicante and Costa Blanca South 

A small group of 7 members met in the Alicante sunshine on Saturday 28 November to see if there was a chance to set up an LI Group in the city. Four people were unable to attend due to illness, holidays etc.

We had a brief discussion around the structure of LI, the existing LI Costa Blanca branch in the Javea area which has been around since the late 80s and has regular attendances of around 25-30 people, policy making in the Party, the EU Referendum “IN” campaign & Overseas Voter Registration.  Signing up to Labour List bulletins and Richard Corbett MEP’s “Doorstep EU” app were recommended.

There is a further group of members to the south-west of Alicante towards Murcia & Mazarrón who might find getting to Alicante difficult so Les Adams has agreed to be the LI Contact for this, the Costa Blanca Southern area.

We will meet again in Alicante on Saturday 30 January 2016 at 12 noon.
