Result of the Vote on the Rule Change Motion

 

The vote on the rule change motion was as follows: 

CARRIED with 771 votes cast 

  • 476 (61.74%) voting YES
  • 295 (38.26%) voting NO

 

Participation was approximately 20% of the membership.

The 2017 Labour Party national conference will be held in September in Brighton. CLP's are able to submit 1 motion only to conference. This can either be:

  •  A rule change motion for debate at the 2018 conference as per party rules – deadline 7th July.

 or

  • A contemporary motion i.e. not a rule change – deadline in August – for debate at the 2017 conference.
